The 2016 GoBo! Foundation Bake Sale was just announced!

In honor of that announcement, I present to you my very first video -the creation of the  'Candy Corn Caper' set, which was my contribution for last year's bake sale.

It was so much fun to design and create. After completing a set of these, I began thinking of what other creepy monsters would be reaching out of the shadows to get their candy corn fix; spiders, Frankenstein, a mummy or zombie... some kind of an animal with a claw, who knows?! I'll be sure to elaborate with sexier photos at a later time, but for now, enjoy!

My First Cookies

So...how did I get into the wonderful world of cookie art?

My dear friend is a 2 - time breast cancer survivor. As part of her healing process, she trains and raises funds all year to participate in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Annually, she hosts a cocktail and dessert party for family, friends and co-workers as her primary fundraiser. I was inspired by her table of desserts and thought it would be nice if everyone that came out to support her had something to go home with. Being a slightly more adult themed party, I wanted to create cute cookie favor that both reminded the attendee of the cause as well as made them smile. Lingerie Bra cookie favors fit the bill! Enter my first foray into the world of cookie decorating! I am still trying to track down that first set of cookies, but for now, you'll have to settle for the pink ribbons that I made for my friend and her team as she prepared for her 5th Avon walk. 

This has been such a wonderful and inspiring community. The willingness of fellow artists to share their designs, recipes, tutorials and tips has been refreshing and invaluable. These are some of the most creative people I have ever known and as impossible as it may sound, they are even more generous - donating time, money and goods to charities that matter to the members of the cookie community. To them, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart for opening your arms and brains for me to pick. To my friend, you are the one of the strongest people I know and inspire me everyday <3
